A New Chapter in Matosinhos
Set in the heart of Matosinhos, one of Porto's most exciting up-and-coming neighborhoods, Casa Linha is where the city's coastal charm meets modern Mediterranean design. The project brings new life to two beautifully restored buildings, 502 and 587, each carrying the spirit of their past into a fresh, light-filled future.
With 15 rooms in total – five in 502 and ten in 587 – Casa Linha blends intimacy and character with the ease of contemporary living. The interiors are bright, airy, and full of texture, featuring sun-washed tones, natural materials, and a palette of soft blues and deep reds inspired by the Portuguese coast. Every detail honors the history of the original structures, thoughtfully preserved to maintain their old-world charm while embracing a clean, modern aesthetic.
Our second building will open later this year — bringing even more rooms, shared spaces, and surprises to the Casa Linha experience.
Slow Living by the Sea
Located just moments from the sea, Casa Linha reflects the energy of Matosinhos, a district known for its creativity, evolving food scene, and the effortless rhythm of coastal life. It is a place where design and authenticity meet, where every corner feels warm, grounded, and quietly inspiring.
At the heart of Casa Linha sits DUNA Café, a vibrant 70s-inspired space filled with warm oranges, earthy browns, and easygoing energy. Serving coffee, café bites, and cocktails, it is designed for slow mornings and long afternoons, a social hub for guests and locals alike.
Casa Linha 502 (along with DUNA Café) is scheduled to open Winter 2025/26, while Casa Linha 587 will follow later in 2026, complete with its own restaurant and unique charm.
More than a place to stay, Casa Linha is a reflection of Alaya Living's ethos: thoughtful design, connection to place, and the beauty of living simply by the sea.
